The 5th Annual Rotary ‘GREAT LAKES WATERSHED CLEANUP’ is fast approaching. On Saturday April 26, 2025, thousands of Rotarians & Non-Rotarians alike, on both sides of the Canadian and U.S. border will roll up their sleeves to collect refuse along the shoreline, and innumerable waterway tributaries to the Great Lakes basin. This is a great example of ‘ROTARY IN ACTION’ and brings considerable community attention to the importance of ‘ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY’. Join us for our ‘ROTARY DAY OF SERVICE (25% Non-Rotarians)’ – All Are Welcome - Bring family, friends and anyone interested in Rotary service.

Jul. 24, 2025 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
This year’s event is on Thursday July 24th at Deer Creek in Ajax and we are hoping to recruit a dozen Rotarians to volunteer. Duties will include: · setting up for registration and activation stations · packaging prizes and gifts · Helping with Registration · Helping with the silent auction · Assisting attendees at the buffet – some will be young children, some would have difficulty carrying their plate from the buffet to their table, some of the younger groups may require a little additional supervision. · Assisting at some of the activation stations before and after the formal brunch – activations will include: First Tee Golf experiences, roller-sled hockey, sitting volleyball, boccia, sport wheelchair obstacle course, photo booth where attendees can have their photo taken with Paralympic athletes, and MAYBE driving (golf cart) some of the participants out on the course to watch some of the world’s best golfers with disabilities. · Handing out gifts · Dancing – new this year – there will be a closing performance by Simone Soman of 2 songs – “I Believe” the Canadian Olympic/Paralympic Anthem and a second song to which the youngsters will get up and dance – meant to energize the group before we go out for the group photo. This is a video we created of Simone three years ago https://vimeo.com/514399956?share=copy · Clean up and transition from the awards brunch to play stations (activations)
All volunteers are also our guests at the brunch which has a value of $100/person |

Jul. 26, 2025 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The Station Gallery is looking for volunteers to assist each artist as these events happen throughout the day – no artistic skills or special knowledge is required! Just an interest in getting out into the community, interacting with people and having fun!
The event will run from 10 am to 4 pm on July 26th. The thought is that two volunteers will be needed for each station and that we break up the shifts into two smaller timeslots. You can volunteer for one or two slots.
